About the practice
A private outpatient practice bringing psychiatry, primary care, and psychological services together for patients across Kentucky.
Our practice
Psychiatric symptoms, physical health, medications, and daily functioning often affect one another. The practice uses careful evaluation, clear communication, and individualized clinical judgment to understand those connections.
Rebekah and Edd bring distinct but complementary backgrounds to their work. Together, their experience spans psychiatric care, family healthcare, psychological evaluation, therapy, teaching, supervision, and community engagement.
Every recommendation depends on the individual, the service requested, clinical appropriateness, and provider availability. The first step is a conversation about your needs and whether the practice may be a good fit.
Practice recognition
Before the Easton-Hogg name, the practice was recognized by BusinessRate under its former Nightingale Healthcare identity.
The original awards are retained here exactly as issued. They recognize the Berea practice as a mental health service in 2025 and 2026.
How we approach care
Relevant history, current concerns, functioning, and clinical context inform every recommendation.
Mental and physical health are connected, and treatment planning should account for both.
Patients deserve understandable recommendations, realistic expectations, and a clear path forward.
Psychiatric & family nurse practitioner
Rebekah graduated from Berea College with a degree in Women and Gender Studies and began her career as a domestic violence advocate in the Fayette County court system. She later became a registered nurse, caring for patients with blood cancers who were receiving bone marrow transplants.
As a family nurse practitioner, Rebekah worked across a wide range of needs, including preventive care, women’s health, family planning, routine screenings, chronic illness management, and lifestyle-based treatment planning. Seeing how often mental health affected every area of care led her to pursue further specialization. She is now board-certified as both a psychiatric nurse practitioner and a family nurse practitioner.
Her combined background supports an approach that considers psychiatric symptoms alongside medical history, physical health, medications, and day-to-day functioning.
When Dr. Stephen Cox retired in August 2024, Rebekah acquired his practice and assumed continuity of care for his former patients. Read about the practice transition.
Clinical Psychologist
A Kentucky native, Edd studied Child and Family Studies at Berea College, completed a Master of Arts in Counseling at Asbury Theological Seminary, and earned his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Spalding University in 2013.
His professional experience includes private practice, psychological evaluation, university teaching, service on professional association boards, supervision of master’s-level providers, and community engagement initiatives.
His approach emphasizes respect, careful listening, and a clear understanding of the clinical question each patient or evaluation presents.
Specialties: Work-disability, criminal-responsibility, pre-employment, parenting-capacity, fitness-for-duty, risk, pre-law-enforcement, and anger-management evaluations; learning-disorder assessments; ADHD examinations; and autism evaluation and therapy services.
